Why would anyone go to the trouble of having a New Year's celebration two months early?  It made no sense.  Not that he cared.

Goodbyes are the laws of earth; reunions are the laws of heaven.

(Fun western spin off of SesshXRin, AU of course) He is everything she isn't: rich, powerful, and strickingly beautiful. Yet, Rin is certain that she is a woman in love, whether she was a fool to be or not.

Rin and Sesshomaru are married and living a happy life together; but their happiness is about to be short lived. Kohaku and his wife are killed in a quarrel with demons and left in their will that their only child would be raised by his Godmother, Rin. A story of trying to survive being thrust into parenthood as they all try to find roots as a family together.

As darkness crept into his sight, he looked back on his too long life and in the distance saw the only times that mattered. The times when his days were filled with foolish songs; melodic verses in his honor. "My Rin."
